Why Is Fssai Registration Required
FSSAI Registration or License must be compulsorily obtained by every food business operator involved in the manufacturing, processing, storage distribution, and sale of food products.
FSSAI registration is a 14-digit registration or license number that gives details about the assembling state, and producer’s permit and also is printed on all the food packages.

Following are the kinds of food licenses:-
- Central License
- State License
- Basic Registration
Why Food Industry Needs A Fssai License:-
- FSSAI license gives an added advantage of an increase in the customer base with the increase of the healthy food items.
- FSSAI license is needed because one can even officially open a business. Food license cost is lesser than what one has to pay for as the penalties if one is caught.
- If the license holders use the FSSAI logo in the menu card or in their promotional business advertisement then it gives an edge over the other FBOs who are not having an FSSAI license.
- In order to secure loans and funding for business expansion, the license is very helpful.
Documents Required For Obtaining Central License
- Form B was duly completed and signed
- Plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions and operation-wise area allocation
- List of Directors/ Partners/Proprietors with address, contact details, and photo ID
- Name and list of equipment and machinery used with the number and installed capacity
- List of food categories to be manufactured
- An authority letter from the manufacturer nominated a responsible person's name and address
- Analysis report of water to be used in the process to confirm the portability
- Recall plan wherever applicable
- Ministry of Commerce Certificate for 100% EOU
- NOC/PA document issued by FSSAI
- IE code document issued by DGFT
- Form IX
- Certificate from the Ministry of Tourism
- Proof of possession of premises
- Partnership deed/ affidavit of proprietorship
- NOC and a copy of the license is needed from the manufacturer
- Food safety management system plan or certificate
- NOC from the municipality or local body
- Supporting documents are needed for proof of turnover and transportation
- Declaration form
Fees For Obtaining a Central License
Fees for obtaining a New License/Renewal of License/Modification of License: Rs.7500.
Fees for obtaining a Duplicate License: Rs.10
Documents Required For Obtaining a State License
- Form B duly completed and signed

- A certified copy is required under the Coop Act 1861/Multistate Coop Act 2002

Fees For Obtaining a State License
Hotels having up to 4 Stars: Rs.5000.
Restaurants/Café/Canteens/Other FBO: Rs.2000
Production units having production below 1 MT and in case of milk units ranging from 2.5 MT to 500 MT per annum: Rs.3000 Production units having production exceeding 1 MT and in case of milk unit ranging from 501 MT to 2500 MT per annum: Rs.5000.
