The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has launched the second edition of the Brazil-India Cross Incubation Programme at Agritech, called Maitri 2.0, in New Delhi. Brazilian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Kenneth Nobrega praised the initiative, calling it a strategic step towards connecting the agro-ecosystems of India and Brazil. The program is in line with the countries' vision for cooperation in agriculture, technology and food security.

Maitri 2.0 focuses on creating resilient food systems and supporting farmers by connecting innovators, startups, and institutions from both nations. Key areas of focus include:

Dr. Jat emphasized ICAR's impressive innovation record, with over 1,800 patents granted annually. Its aim is to bring publicly funded innovations to farmers and end users. He stressed addressing common challenges like climate change and sustainable intensification.
