New Delhi, June 10, 2025, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has officially notified the establishment of numerous Indian standards under sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. The notification highlights the specifics of each standard along with the date of implementation and details of any concurrent standards.

This move is part of BIS’s routine process to update and maintain compatibility with Indian standards in several fields. The amendments aim to bring the standards framework algin with current requirements, methods and technologies.
New Standards and Dates of Establishment
As per the notification, the details of the newly enacted Indian Standards are listed in the second column of the attached schedule, while the third column mentions the date of enactment. These standards are now in effect from the respective dates provided.
In cases where the old standards are still applicable, they are listed in the fourth column of the schedule. These existing standards will remain in effect alongside the new ones until the specified date of withdrawal, ensuring a smooth transition.
