India has achieved another milestone in agricultural exports. The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has enabled the first-ever export of 12 metric tonnes of Fortified Rice Kernel (FRK) from Chhattisgarh to Costa Rica.

This step supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision under the Poshan Abhiyan. The Food Corporation of India (FCI) is already allocating fortified rice nationwide, and now, India’s nutrition drive is reaching global markets.
Boost for Farmers and Exporters

APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev congratulated the team behind the export. Shri Mukesh Jain, President of The Rice Exporters Association of Chhattisgarh (TREA-CG), thanked APEDA for its assistance. He noted that more FRK exports to new destinations are being planned. With enduring cooperation, Chhattisgarh is focusing on further expanding its agricultural exports.
APEDA’s proactive role and APEDA registration process have made it easier for small and medium exporters to enter the international market.
