Overview: About the Krishak Bandhu Scheme

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee launched the WB Krishak Bandhu scheme to provide financial support to farmers in 2018. The chief minister has now decided to relaunch the scheme. On June 17, it was announced that the financial support under this scheme would be doubled. Earlier, farmers used to get Rs 5,000 per year for a farm of at least one hectare. Now, farmers will get 10,000 rupees per year, doubling its benefits. Doubling the benefits of the WB Krishak Bandhu program was part of the Trinamool Congress election program. About 68 lakh farmers will benefit from this scheme.

PM Vishwakarma Yojana Schawan is to support the objective farm of the Swatantra Yojana scheme by providing 10,000 rupees per year as financial support in the pre-production and post-production stages of agriculture. The scheme also provides financial protection to farmer’s families through the scheme’s life insurance.

According to reports, more than 20 lakh farmers are already registered in this system and the registered farmers can check the status of their applications in various ways.

How to check your Krishak Bandhu Scheme Status

Follow the steps below to check your Krishak Bandhu status with Voter ID and Aadhar Card Number:

• Go to the official website of Krishak Bandhu scheme
• Go to the “Registered Farmer Information” home page of the official website.
• Click on it and a new page will open where you have to select the option you want to check your Krishna Bandhu app status.
•  From the given option select the option Voter ID/Aadhar ID/ Bank Account Number/KBID/ Mobile Number / Confirmation Number. 
• Remove the captcha option and click on the search button below. Your Krishak Bandhu app status will appear on the screen after a few minutes. The information includes your KBID ID, AKD ID, Name, Aadhar Number, Status, Payment Status, and other farmer beneficiary details.

Key Benefits of the Krishak Bandhu Scheme

• Financial Assistance: Under the scheme, farmers who have 1 hectare or more than 1 hectare of land can get 10,000 rupees per year. The amount is distributed in installments, half in the kharif season and the other half in the Rabi season. The subsidy during pre-cultivation and post-production will solve many problems for farmers and save them from loan sharks.
• Death Benefits: Under the scheme, farmers in the beneficiary country will also get life insurance of Rs. 2 lakh. This is another great initiative by the government to provide life insurance to assisted farmers. Farmer families will get 2,000 rupees if the dies between 18 and  60 years
• Financial Assistance to Farmers will Less than 1 hectare of Land: Under the scheme, the government will support farmers with less than 1 hectare of land. Land for agriculture use by giving financial assistance of Rs.4000 per annum. The amount will be divided into two installments, one part in the Kharif season and the other half in the Rabi season. 
• Preferences in Paddy Procurement Scheme: Beneficiaries of the Krishak Bnadhu Scheme will get special benefits in the rice procurement scheme of the state government.
