These are electronic devices that fall under e-waste and are classified as Consumer Electrical and Electronics. The producers of these devices should obtain EPR Authorization for Television Sets. These sets contain substances that are harmful to the environment and hence CPCB monitors the manufacturing, sale and distribution of Television Sets to ensure their proper end-of-life disposal. The rules only allow registered recyclers, who have obtained the EPR Registration from CPCB, to recycle Television Sets. Not just the producers of Television Sets but also the recyclers need to register at CPCB Portal. This way, CPCB monitors the e-waste in circulation in the market and makes appropriate actions accordingly for the welfare of our environment.
