Withdrawal of Indian Standards
In line with ongoing efforts to simplify and modernize the Indian standards framework, BIS has also withdrawn some obsolete or redundant standards. These withdrawals are implemented to eliminate overlaps, remove outdated guidelines and enhance overall regulatory efficiency. Details of the standards withdrawn, along with the relevant dates of withdrawal, are listed in the schedule attached to the official notification. It is significant for organizations to review these evacuations and update their reference documents and procedures accordingly.
Persistent use of withdrawn standards may result in non-compliance and may impact eligibility for BIS certification or renewal. Companies should ensure that any withdrawn standard on which they previously relied has been replaced by an updated counterpart or applicable alternative standard.
