What is Solid Waste?
Solid waste means any waste material, refuse coming from household, treatment plant, processing plant, pollution control facility and other facilities which also contribute in solid waste. Outcome from the industrial, commercial, mining and agricultural activities, and from community activities, but excludes solid or dissolved particles in domestic sewage, or solid or dissolved materials in irrigation activities or industrial discharges that are point sources.

Solid waste is generated from many different activities these activities are industrial, residential, and commercial, and may be handled in a variety of ways.

Solid waste management is a broad aspect that is used to refer to the step by step process of collecting and treating solid wastes. It also provides solutions for recycling items that do not belong to solid waste. As long as people will not aware about the need of solid waste management till then, garbage or solid waste has been an issue.

Solid - Waste management, the collection, treatment, and disposal of solid material that is discarded because it has served its duty or is no longer useful. Improper collection, treatment & disposal of municipal solid waste can create unhygienic conditions, and these conditions in turn can lead to pollution of the environment and to outbreaks of mosquito-borne disease that is, diseases spread by rodents and insects.
