EPR E-Waste Portal Migration can be defined as the process of transmitting the previous EPR registrations, authorisations, targets, and compliance data from previous systems or legacy approvals to the centralised EPR E-Waste Portal of the CPCB. This migration will make sure that every controlled party will work on a single verified, transparent, and standardised digital framework.
Previously, producers, importers, recyclers, and refurbishers were registered through various ways, such as by manual approval or by old portals. As the single EPR portal is introduced in the E-Waste (Management) Rules, all the past approvals should be officially migrated to prevent compliance status disruption.
Migration does not form a new authorisation. Rather, it confirms and re-enters the already existing approvals, connects them with the new business information and aligns them with the current EPR requirements. In the absence of migration, entities can lose portal access, not generate returns, or become regulatory non-compliant even when they previously had valid approvals.
