DGFT Restricted Import License for Copper Scrap Import

Importing copper scrap into India does not begin with a licence application. It begins with identifying what exactly is being imported. A consignment described commercially as “copper scrap” may be copper wire scrap, heavy copper scrap, insulated copper wire, mixed copper waste, residue, dross, ash or another copper-bearing material. That difference can change the eight-digit ITC HS code and, with it, the import route.
