Clinical Establishment Registration is a structured system introduced under the Clinical Establishment Registration and Regulation Act, 2010, to regulate and standardise healthcare institutions. The main aim of the clinical establishment registration is to ensure that all the hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, and alternative healthcare facilities meet the minimum standards of service, safety, and infrastructure. This Act covers both government and private establishments, bringing them under a unified system of registration and monitoring.
The system applies to all types of healthcare providers, including specialty hospitals, maternal and child care centres, diagnostic labs, dental and physiotherapy clinics, and traditional or alternative medicine centres. This registration helps in maintaining proper data of healthcare facilities, enables authorities in monitoring trends, planning health events, and improving public health outcomes.
By encouraging adherence to quality standards, Clinical Establishment Registration enhances accountability and professionalism in healthcare services. It takes care of patient safety, builds trust in medical service providers, and strengthens the entire healthcare sector.
