AS9100 Certification- AS9100 is an organization level certification dependent on a standard published by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) titled "Quality Systems-Aerospace-Model for Quality Assurance in Design, Development, Production, Installation and Servicing". AS9100 Revision A (2001)
During the revise of ISO 9001 for the year 2000, the AS group worked intimately with the ISO association. In the year 2000, correction of ISO 9001 melded major hierarchical and philosophical changes, AS9000 encountered a patch up as well. It was released as AS9100 to the worldwide airplane industry simultaneously as the new version of ISO 9001.
AS9100A is really two gauges references in a single production; Section 1 characterizes a refreshed QMS model lined up with the refreshed ISO 9001:2000 distribution while Section 2 characterizes a heritage model with ISO 9001:1994. Associations that in year 2001 were working a QMS dependent on ISO 9001:1994 were allowed to adjust to Section 2 with the desire that they would then change their QMS to Section 1.
AS9100 Revision B (2004), Quality Management Systems – Aerospace Requirements
As the period for change from the 1994 to 2000 models passed, AS9100B was discharged in 2004 as an administrative adjustment to eradicate Section 2 of the Revision A standard.
AS9100 Revision C (2009), Quality Management System – Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations
The AS9100C changes are driven by repeated delivery of non-conforming product and repeated late delivery by associations that held AS9100A/B affirmations. Those associations had archived controls that fit in with the standard; in any case, there were inadequate procedures processes in place to assure effectiveness of those controls. The reaction right now is to raise the prerequisites for Risk Management and to make Risk Management a coordinated topic all through the standard.
Changes between AS9100B and AS9100C
A main challenge to AS9100B: Consistent associations was the new AS9100 evaluating standards characterized in AS9101 Revision D, which dispenses with the clause-based consistence agenda and expects associations to give proof of effectiveness of their systems and processes.
